New page: Resources for Writers

Hello all,

I would guess that a good chunk of the folks who subscribe to this newsletter are fellow writers. And like many writers, I am also an editor. Of course, 'editor' can mean many things. In my case, I am currently a contributing editor for the County Lines literary journal. Though I also used to do a modest amount of developmental editing, I have stepped back from that for the time being—it was such a time sink. I am still available for lighter critique work, however. If you have the need, check out my hire me page where I offer various critique services.

TL;DR: We all need assistance polishing our work, but you need to do the yeoman's share of the work on your own. In the spirit of assisting fellow writers, and myself for that matter, I have collected some of my thoughts, notes, and workshop artifacts, and published them to a new section of my website: Resources for Writers. Today you can dive right into . . .

Over time, I hope to add even more helpful how-tos, explainers, and the like. The goal is to be comprehensive without being overwhelming. I'm sure I succeeded in some cases, but perhaps not in others. Regardless, I think there's a lot of added value there. Let me know what you think, if you find any errors, and send me your ideas for other hot topics for writers. Finally, if you find these pages particularly helpful, spread the word.

Cheers! —t
